La Grotte De Arue
La Grotte de Arue is a shallow coastal dive site located near the town of Arue. Access is quick, with straightforward entry from a rocky shoreline and visibilities that commonly permit relaxed exploration. The site features a submarine cave formation and surrounding rocky shallows, typical of Southeast Pacific/American Pacific tropical coastlines. Divers often encounter small reef fish, wrasse, and blennies around the rockwork, with macro life possible in crevices. Conditions are generally calm, suitable for beginner to intermediate divers depending on current. The site’s proximity to nearby towns like ʻĀrue, Pīraʻe and Mahina can make it a convenient option for a half- or full-day dive plan when weather and sea state permit.
