Gili Mimpang, Candidasa

Gili Mimpang is a small offshore reef near Candidasa, typically accessed by boat from nearby coastal towns. It features a shallow to mid-depth reef profile with gentle slopes and scattered bommies, offering a straightforward entry and calm conditions suitable for beginner to intermediate divers. The site supports healthy hard and soft coral growth with a variety of reef fishes common to tropical Indo-Pacific waters, including butterflyfish, wrasse, angelfish, damselfish, and occasional larger residents around the structure. Visibility is often fair to good, with seabed depths generally staying within a comfortable range for trained divers. Currents are usually mild, making it a relaxed dive focused on reef scenery and macro life.
