Fan Canyon

Fan Canyon is a coastal site around Tioman Island, characterized by a sloping underside and a series of crevices that form a shallow-to-mid depth canyon. Access is straightforward from shore or a short boat ride, with typical tropical turquoise waters and clear visibility in calm conditions. The canyon walls host a variety of reef species common to Indo-Pacific offshore reefs, including multiple damselfish, reeffish and occasional schooling pelagics near the drop-offs. Divers can expect gentle to moderate current on drift runs, priority given to buoyancy control and safe navigation through the canyon passages. This site is suitable for open-water and advanced beginners who are comfortable in moderate environments and wish to explore sheltered canyon topography with macro opportunities on the reef edge.
