Cala Punta Negra

Cala Punta Negra is a shallow coastal dive site near Palma Bay, accessible from the nearby towns of Son Caliu, Palmanova and Bendinat. The site typically features a gentle seafloor with sandy patches and rocky patches close to the shore, making it suitable for beginner and training dives as well as for snorkelers. Expect clear, moderate visibility conditions in calm seas, with bottom terrain ranging from sandy flats to short rocky outcrops. Marine life is common to the Western Mediterranean, including small groupers, wrasse, bream, octopus and moray eels around the rocky sections, plus posidonia meadows that attract a variety of juvenile fish. Entry is easy from the beach with a gentle descent, and currents are usually minimal. The site lies just offshore, offering a straightforward dive in a protected coastal environment and convenient access from Palma’s coastal resorts.
