Cala Montenero is a small rocky dive site on the Ligurian coast near the vertical coast between Manarola and the Cinque Terre. Access is straightforward from the adjacent shoreline with easy entries from a protected cove. The site features mixed green-blue water and typical Mediterranean life; underwater topography includes rocky walls and shallow rocky shelves. Depths are generally shallow, with most dives staying within 6–18 meters, depending on chosen entry point and conditions. Expect a calm environment in good sea states, clear water, and good visibility for macro life such as small blennies, wrasses, damselfish, and occasional octopus in crevices. The area lies close to popular hubs like Manarola, La Spezia and Le Grazie, making it a convenient local dive for short trips or a splash-in dive before or after visiting the Cinque Terre.
