Zee’s Reef
Zee’s Reef is a shallow coastal reef site commonly accessed from nearby towns in the Puget Sound region. Typical conditions include calm surface, mild currents, and water temperatures that vary seasonally. The reef features a mix of sandy patches and rocky outcrops with emergent boulders providing nooks for small creatures. Expect a bottom around shallow to mid depths, with visibility often ranging from fair to good on clear days. Common reef inhabitants in Puget Sound include a variety of rockfish, lingcod, wrasses, perch, and octopus, as well as a range of nudibranchs and anemones. The site is suitable for beginners with basic buoyancy control, as well as for macro and local reef exploration.
