Bel Ombre
Whale Rock, Seychelles
Whale Rock is a shallow coastal reef site off Bel Ombre in the Seychelles, accessible from nearby villages. The topography features a rocky reef crest and gentle slopes that drop to moderate depths, with clear tropical water conditions typical of the Seychelles. Expect schools of pequeno fusiliers, snappers, and reef-dwellers among hard corals and acroporids. Consistent current is possible on the outer edge, so divers should plan entry and exit with local guidance. The site is suitable for beginner to intermediate divers, especially those practicing buoyancy and color-detection skills, and provides an accessible reef-dive experience near Bel Ombre, with nearby access points from Port Glaud and Pascal Village within a few kilometres.
