Walangala
Walangala is a coastal dive site in the region near Akurala and Madampagama, with access from nearby towns. The area features typical tropical reef topography, gentle sloping reefs and small ledges suitable for beginner to intermediate divers. Expect clear warm water and steady conditions in calm weather. Local marine life includes common Indo-Pacific reef species such as damselfish, parrotfish, wrasses and occasional reef sharks on deeper sections, with healthy coral cover in sheltered areas. The site is often used by local dive centers for beginner dives and refreshers, with entry from rocky or sandy bottoms and short swim-offs to the reef edge.
