Tombstone Reef

Tombstone Reef is a shallow reef site suitable for introductory and casual dives off the coast near West End. The reef forms a compact, sunlit topography with scattered bommies and short swim-throughs between gentle ledges. Depths typically range from the upper meters down to around 15–18 metres, making it a comfortable choice for new divers and those building buoyancy and navigation skills. Common Mediterranean-like Caribbean species such as snapper, grunts, parrotfish, and reef-associated wrasse may be seen among the coral blocks and patches of seafloor. The site is generally protected from strong currents and offers clear, manageable conditions in fair to good visibility. Access is straightforward from the shore or a short boat ride, with easy entry and relaxed surface intervals. Nearby towns like West End and Cotton Tree Bay are within a few kilometers, making Tombstone Reef a convenient option for a half-day dive session.
