Argelès Sur Mer

Tavac

Tavac is a shallow, sandy-mullioned dive site near the rocky coast of the eastern Pyrenees shoreline. Located close to Argelès-sur-Mer, Collioure and Port-Vendres, it offers straightforward entry from the beach or a short boat dive, depending on conditions. The site is typically characterized by calm, clear waters with gentle slope drop-offs and a mix of sandy patches and scattered rocky outcrops. Expect common Western Mediterranean species such as groupers, wrasses, and moray eels, with posidonia meadows providing habitat opportunities for small reef fishes. Visibility is often good in calm weather, making Tavac suitable for beginner to intermediate divers and for training dives. Currents are usually mild, and the depth generally remains shallow, allowing relaxed swimming and easy navigation along the bottom topology.
