Taipas

Taipas is a local dive site in the Algarve near Albufeira, Armação de Pêra and Pêra. Accessible from the coast, it features typical Atlantic conditions with clear Atlantic water, sandy to rocky bottoms and easy access from shore or a short boat ride. The area is known for diverse marine life common to subtropical Atlantic waters, including small reef fish, wrasse, and occasional shoals. Depths are generally shallow to moderate, making it suitable for beginner to intermediate divers depending on chosen entry point and current conditions. This site is commonly visited by local dive centers for practice dives and finite reef exploration while preserving a low-key, coastal dive experience.
