Stingray Alley

Stingray Alley is a shallow, sandy to rubble bottom site off Lance Aux Epines, characterized by a corridor of sandy channels and scattered coral blocks where stingrays are commonly seen cruising the seabed. Access is straightforward from nearby shores with a calm reef-protected exit and moderate surface conditions. The site typically hosts a range of Western Atlantic reef taxa: small tropical fish, Caribbean damselfish, parrotfish, and occasional juveniles that use the rubble as habitat. Depths are generally shallow, with most dives staying in the upper 5–15 metres, making it suitable for beginner to intermediate divers and for drift or macro-focused sessions depending on current conditions. Visibility varies but is often fair to good when winds are light, and bottom terrain offers gentle swim-throughs and short, rewarding sightings rather than large structures. Local currents can influence dive planning; plan for a relaxed drift when conditions permit, and always maintain awareness of nearby sandy channels and shallow corners where rays may be encountered.
