Sharkys Reef

Sharkys Reef is a local dive site off the Algarve coast near Albufeira. Accessible from nearby towns within about a 20-minute drive, the site typically features a shallow to mid-depth reef structure with sandy gaps and rocky ledges. Expect clear Atlantic water with moderate visibility and a mix of common Mediterranean-Atlantic species typical of the region, such as wrasse, bream, Moray eels, and small schools of fish. The bottom usually ranges from a few meters to the mid-teens, making it suitable for beginner to intermediate divers depending on conditions. Entry is from a shore or small boat when weather permits, with a straightforward swim and gentle current possible.
