Saint Jean De Luz

Sec à Balou is a local coastal dive site near Saint-Jean-de-Luz in the Basque coast. It lies within easy reach for day trips from nearby towns such as Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Ciboure and Iratzea. The site offers shallow to moderate depths suitable for recreational divers exploring rocky seabeds, small caves, and patches of seabed cover. Expect typical Atlantic-marine habitats with common species of the southwestern French coast, including wrasses, gobies, blennies, Seine lobsters and conger eels in rocky crevices. Conditions are usually calm in sheltered areas, with visibility that varies with tides and weather. Access is straightforward from the shore or a short boat ride, with entry from a sandy or rocky beach depending on the spot.
