Pilot Reef

Pilot Reef is a shallow coastal reef site suitable for beginners and refreshing check dives near the Indian coastal towns. The reef typically lies within a few meters of depth, with gentle bommies and sandy gaps that protect a variety of hard corals and small reef fishes. Access is straightforward from nearby settlements, and calm conditions improve visibility for early-mlevel divers. Expect a calm, sheltered diving environment with standard Western Indian Ocean reef life such as parrotfish, damselfish, wrasse, and occasionally larger species cruising the edges. The site is commonly used for basic skills practice, drift checks in light current, and short recreational dives close to shore.
