Neptune’s Cave

Neptune’s Cave is a local dive site near Arona on Tenerife’s south coast. Access is straightforward from nearby towns, with a shallow entry that transitions to a gently sloping wall and a sheltered swim-through cave feature. The site supports relaxed recreational dives with stable conditions typical of sheltered Atlantic waters. Expect clear visibility in good conditions, and a mix of typical Canary Island life including damselfish, wrasse, and small groupers around rocky outcrops. The cave itself provides a brief swim-through experience rather than a deep penetration, making it suitable for beginner to intermediate divers with basic buoyancy control. Salty, oceanic water and mild to moderate currents are common, especially outside calm spells. Nearby access points include Arona (under a mile away) and Los Cristianos (just over 5 km), with San Miguel de Abona further afield. For most visitors, a guided dive with local centers is recommended to locate the entrance and navigate the cave safely.
