Magic Island

Magic Island is a shallow, sandy-bottom site just off the Honolulu coast, popular for relaxing shore dives and beginner training. The area features gentle slopes with minimal structure, making entrances straightforward from the beach. Typical visibility ranges from fair to moderate, varying with sea conditions and currents. Expect a mix of reef fish common to coastal Hawaiian waters, including damselfish, surgeons, apprentice priests, and occasional spinner dolphins or turtles farther off. The site is well-suited for static reef surveys, macro photography, and practicing buoyancy in calm conditions. Access is convenient from nearby hotels and local dive shops, with limited depth usually not exceeding a few tens of metres.
