Madelines

Madelines is a local dive site near Utila, accessed from nearby anchorages and small coves. The area around Utila is known for its clear tropical waters, typical reef-associated life, and easy boat access. Expect shallow to moderate depths suitable for recreational diving, with common Caribbean species such as small reef fish, damselfish, wrasse, and occasional moray eels along coral heads. The site layout tends to feature a gentle sandy to rubble bottom with patches of coral and ledges. Conditions are typically calm in good weather, with visibility commonly ranging from several meters to well over 20 meters, depending on tides and season. This site is often used by local operators for introductory dives and short excursions from Utila and nearby coves like Up Cay.
