Kawana

Kawana is a local dive site near Ito, offering straightforward access for recreational divers. Situated in shallow coastal waters, the site typically features gentle reefs and seabed topography suitable for training dives and introductory reef exploration. Visibility is often good in settled conditions, with calm surface entries from a sandy or rubble shoreline. Common Western Pacific coastal species such as small reef fishes, damselfish and wrasses may be seen around the structure, along with soft corals and algae-covered rocks in protected shallows. The site is commonly visited by nearby dive centers for beginner and practice dives, making it a practical option for refresher courses or shore-entry sessions.
