Kapalua
Kapalua Beach
Kapalua Beach is a shallow, coastal site on Maui’s northwest coast. The shoreline features white sand and a gentle shelf that drops gradually, making it suitable for drift and macro-oriented diving from the beach or a short boat ride. Typical conditions include calm mornings, mild currents, and clear to light turbid water depending on wind and swell. The area supports a straightforward entry and is popular with local divers for practicing buoyancy and finning techniques. Marine life is common for a tropical reef environment, with small reef fish, wrasses, damselfish, and occasional green sea turtles around rocky outcrops and coral heads. The nearby coves and reefs offer a calm environment for introductory dives or quick check dives between activities.
