Ka’anapali Shores is a coastal dive site off Maui’s west coast. The area features shallow reef flats and sandy areas with occasional rocky outcrops, typical of beachfront Maui diving. Expect calm conditions in good weather with gentle currents and clear tropical waters. The site is used by local dive ops for introductory dives and training, with easy entry from the shore or a short boat hop to nearby reefs. Common sightings may include reef fish, small parrotfish, triggerfish, and occasionally larger pelagics and turtles further offshore, especially during calm seas and warmer months. Access is convenient from nearby Ka’anapali resorts, Lahaina and Honokowai, with the closest anchor points within a short surface interval from the beach.
