Jambiani Lagoon is a shallow, sandy area along the southeast coast of Zanzibar. The site is best known for easy, relaxed diving in clear shallow water with a generally calm backdrop, ideal for beginners and snorkelers transitioning to scuba. Expect gentle gradients, seagrass beds nearby, and occasional small reef patches with a mix of reef fish and crabs. Visibility is typically moderate, currents are usually mild or absent, and entry is straightforward from shore or short boat rides. The nearby towns of Jambiani, Paje, and Bwejuu provide convenient access and local services, with Jambiani serving as the closest launch point for this lagoon site.
