Utila
Jack’s Bight
Jack’s Bight is a shallow, sheltered reef site off Utila with easy access for beginners and drift-friendly conditions for experienced divers. The area features a sandy-bottom transition to coral shelves, providing gentle drop-offs and clear water typical of Utila’s western Caribbean coast. Expect schooling fish, parrotfish, surgeonfish, and occasional reef sharks in local channel areas, with healthy coral formations along the reef edge. Entry is typically from the shore or a small beach, and conditions are generally calm, making it suitable for training dives, snorkeling transitions, and relaxed recreational dives. Visibility varies with weather and plankton blooms, but calm periods offer good underwater clarity.
