Begur

Illa Negra

Illa Negra is a rocky reef site off the coast near Begur, Palafrugell and PalamĂłs in the Costa Brava. Typical conditions are clear, Mediterranean water with good visibility and a shallow to mid-depth profile. The site features a sloping reef with scattered rocks providing structure for local marine life, including groupers, wrasses and moray eels, plus a mix of octopus and colourful reef fish commonly seen along this coast. Entry and exit are straightforward from a simple shore entry or small nearby rocky platforms; divers should be mindful of occasional surge and boat traffic when approaching from the adjacent swim zones. This is a local coastal dive suitable for divers with basic to intermediate skills exploring typical Catalan underwater topography.
