El Balito

El Balito is a shallow coastal dive site near Adeje on Tenerife’s southwest coast. Access is straightforward from local beaches and coastal paths, with a gentle slope and sandy patches interspersed with rocky outcrops. Typical visibility varies seasonally but is often good for a site at this depth, and conditions are generally calm in sheltered bays. The site features a mix of small reef-beds and rocky bottoms that attract common Mediterranean- and Atlantic-associated species, including wrasses, damselfish, moray eels, and shy octopus; occasional pelagic sightings can occur closer to the drop-offs. This is a suitable spot for beginners and for practicing buoyancy and finning technique, as well as for drift confidence along mild current lines along the shore.
