Coral Street Beach

Coral Street Beach is a shallow, coastal site near Pacific Grove on California’s Central Coast. The area provides access from a public beach with straightforward entry and exit, suitable for guided shore dives or training dives. Conditions are typically calm in sheltered sections, with water temperatures often ranging from the mid-50s to mid-60s Fahrenheit (around 12–18°C) depending on season, and visibility that varies with currents and plankton. The site commonly features sandy bottoms with scattered rocks, kelp holds, and a mix of local invertebrates and small fish. Expect typical temperate Pacific species such as tidepool sculpins, wrasses, gobies, small sharks on rare occasions, and a variety of nudibranchs and anemones along rocky outcrops. This is more of a local, easy-access dive than a destination site, well-suited for short shore dives, training, and practice of buoyancy and navigation.
