Altare is a coastal dive site near Portofino, in the Ligurian Sea. Accessible from the local towns, it sits along a rocky seabed with modest depths suitable for recreational dives. Expect clear Mediterranean water, typical rocky substrate, and moderate current in some conditions. The site commonly features rocky outcrops, subtle swim-throughs, and a variety of Western Mediterranean fauna such as wrasses, damselfish, groupers, octopus, and lobsters around the rocky patches and crevices.
