Airport Beach

Airport Beach is a shallow, beginner-friendly site on Maui’s leeward coast. Entry is straightforward from a sandy beach, with mostly gradual slopes and a mix of rocky outcrops just offshore. Depths typically range from a few meters to the low teens, making it a suitable option for new divers and for practice dives. The site can feature calm conditions in good weather, with visibility often good but variable after runs of wind or surf. Expect a calm, protected environment with typical tropical reef life and some patchy coral heads; nearby sandy patches may host smaller invertebrates and unveils occasional reef fish activity. Because conditions can shift with swells, always assess current conditions at the surface before entering and plan a conservative ascent and safety stop routine.
