Sint Michiel

Sint Michiel (on Curaçao) is a convenient coastal base on the island’s north-west side, with easy access to the island’s Caribbean Sea diving. Most diving here is saltwater reef and shore/short-boat operations rather than long open-water routes. Expect conditions typical of Curaçao: warm water, generally good visibility, and lots of reef life around protected inshore areas. If you want a change from the sea, there’s freshwater locally around the Zoommeer area, but freshwater diving is more niche and typically not the main draw for visitors compared with the surrounding coast. With a smaller local scene than the main tourism strips, many divers plan dives around the days they can reach the best-placed reef spots with a local center.
