Veli Rat

Veli Rat is a small coastal village on Dugi Otok in Croatia, near the northern Adriatic. It isn’t a major diving hub, but the area offers access to Adriatic dive sites along the coast and around nearby islands. With seven known dive sites in the region, most diving here tends to be modest in scale and suited to day trips from local centers in the wider Zadar area. Conditions are typically calm in sheltered coves, with clear visibility common in offshore sites, and marine life including typical Adriatic flora and fauna. Access is straightforward from Zadar County and the town of Zadar, making it a practical add-on for a Croatian coastal itinerary, rather than a dedicated dive destination on its own.
