Turkey is a scuba destination across three seas: the Aegean Sea, the Eastern Mediterranean, and the Black Sea. Most divers focus on the southwestern coast and nearby islands, where visibility is often strong and boats reach offshore sites in a day. Kaş and the surrounding Lycian coast are well known for rocky seabeds, walls and clear-water conditions in season. Bodrum is a common hub for Aegean diving, mixing sheltered bays with open-water trips. Farther east, Silifke connects divers with the Eastern Mediterranean and its mix of reefs, drop-offs and accessible coastal entries. Conditions vary by season and region, so plan around wind and water clarity. Turkey also has freshwater lakes (seasonal access and visibility can be hit-or-miss), but the main diving activity is in saltwater along the coast.
