Options also exist in the Gulf of Aqaba on the northwest coast, where water temperatures can be cooler than the central Red Sea and diving is generally more seasonal and less widespread. The Persian Gulf has diving too, but conditions and site availability tend to be more variable, so most dive planning focuses on Red Sea trips from major coastal bases. Expect the biggest practical difference between seasons: calmer seas and better visibility are often easier to line up on Red Sea routes, especially for day trips and short liveaboard-style itineraries arranged through local operators.
