Antioquia

Antioquia is an inland administrative region in Colombia with limited direct access to saltwater diving. The province is best known for its highland landscapes and urban centers like Medellín and Itagüí. Within its boundaries there are a couple of freshwater or guided-water experiences in controlled environments, but traditional ocean diving is not a defining feature of this region. Travelers generally use Antioquia as a base for culture, altitude-adventure, and day trips to nearby coastal destinations in other departments. For divers, the region’s value lies more in travel logistics and nearby dive hubs outside Antioquia proper.
