Sithane Pare

Sithane Pare is a local coastal dive site located near Nilaveli on the eastern coast, typically reached within ten minutes from nearby towns. The site forms a shallow offshore reef edge with gentle slopes and sandy patches, making it accessible for beginner to intermediate divers. Expect clear tropical waters, moderate visibility, and a calm surface most days. The reef structure hosts a variety of small reef fishes, snappers, parrotfish, and occasional moray eels, with dense algal cover and patches of seagrass in the sandy zones. Entry is straightforward from shore or a small boat, and currents are usually mild but can pick up at depth. This site is commonly used by local centers for check dives and refresher sessions, rather than a destination-specific dive.
