Grotte à Corail, Lion De Mer

The Grotte à Corail, Lion de Mer is a shallow Mediterranean dive site near Fréjus in the Gulf of Lions. The site features a coral-filled cavern and a nearby swim-through formed by rocky walls and reef-like outcrops. Access is straightforward from the coast, with a sandy bottom that generally remains calm in good weather. Expect typical Western Mediterranean reef life, including(groupers) and moray eels, octopus, and a variety of damselfish around coral patches. The site is suitable for reef and macro-focused dives, as well as drills for buoyancy and navigation. Depths are shallow and conditions are usually mild, making it a practical choice for local divers and training dives when sea state allows.
