El Peñón
El Peñón is a shallow coastal site off the rocky shoreline near Calp, Spain. The dive typically targets nearshore tops of rocky formations with easy entry from a beach or small jetty. Expect clear, Mediterranean waters with moderate visibility and a gentle range of depths. The site commonly features rocky crests, small caverns and ledges that host a range of Mediterranean species such as groupers, blennies and damselfish, with sea urchins and various crustaceans along the rock faces. It is suitable for beginners and for training dives when conditions are calm, while more experienced divers can enjoy macro life and a relaxed drift in mild currents near the coast.
