Venezuela is a coastal scuba-diving destination in the Caribbean, with most access centered on the northern mainland and offshore island areas. Expect warm, tropical marine conditions along the Caribbean coast, and a mix of reef diving, wall/rock formations around islands, and occasional wreck opportunities depending on local routes. Common dive bases include areas around Caracas/La Guaira (for quick access to northern sites), the coast near Maracay/Aragua, and island regions reached by short flights or transfers such as Isla de Margarita. For a more “remote” trip style, many divers plan days around protected island groups like Los Roques, where sites are typically accessed via boat and conditions can be very clear when seas are calm. In general, water temperatures are comfortable year-round, while visibility, currents, and wind-driven wave conditions vary by season and site exposure.
