Juan Fernández

Juan Fernández is a remote archipelago about 600 km off the coast of central Chile, best known for its rugged volcanic islands rather than day-to-day city life. The main settlement on Robinson Crusoe Island offers access to modest diving opportunities via local operators, with boats visiting nearby reefs and offshore sites. Expect cool, nutrient-rich water, variable visibility, and a mix of kelp, nudibranchs, and small tropical-adjacent reef fish depending on the site. The area is more of a gateway to offshore dive sites than a dense dive center hub, and many divers use it as a base for longer itineraries or as a point of access to the surrounding protected waters.
