St. Simons Island

St. Simons Island sits off the coast of southern Georgia, USA, in the Glynn County area. It is a coastal barrier island in the Atlantic region with a modest local diving scene. The larger Gulf of Mexico and nearby Atlantic coast offer opportunities for offshore and shallow-water diving, but within the island itself there are very limited, if any, on-site dive sites or centers. For divers visiting, the area is best approached as a coastal gateway with nearby coastal wrecks, reefs, and marine life accessible via day trips from nearby centers along the Georgia and northern Florida coastlines.
