Atlanta is not a coastal diving destination. The city sits inland in Georgia and is better known as a transport hub and business center. Nearby, freshwater diving opportunities exist in older quarries and nearby lakes within the region, but there are no notable dive sites directly in the city. For divers, Atlanta offers access to the wider Southeast U.S. diving scene via day trips to freshwater quarries, spring-fed lakes, and occasional coast trips further afield. If you’re planning a dive trip, you’ll typically base yourself here to connect with local dive centers for training or trip logistics and then travel to nearby diving destinations.
