Makunduchi

Makunduchi is a small coastal town on Zanzibar’s southeast coast. It’s not a major diving hub, and there are limited diving options directly in town. Nearby coastal areas offer local reef dives and shoreline access, with a handful of centers and operators serving day trips or beginner-friendly dives. Expect warm tropical water and relatively gentle conditions suited for introductory dives, with common reef species and occasional currents depending on the site. For divers, the broader Zanzibar archipelago provides more choices, but Makunduchi itself is more about local scenery and culture than a primary dive destination.
