Peraliya

Peraliya is a coastal town in the Galle District of Sri Lanka, located on the Indian Ocean shore near the Laccadive Sea. It isn’t a major diving hub itself, and the local dive scene is limited. Nearby reefs and dive opportunities are more accessible from larger coastal towns within the region, with a couple of dive centers in the district offering basic training and boat trips along the coast. For divers, the area serves as a gateway to southern Sri Lanka’s broader diving routes, including reef and wreck experiences a short drive away, while the town itself remains more about access to beaches and local culture than on-site diving.
