Makna is a coastal town in the Gulf of Aqaba region, serving as a gateway for divers heading to the southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aqaba. The area is less developed for tourism than major Red Sea hubs, with local access primarily via road and limited on-site diving infrastructure. Freshwater options are not a feature of the city itself, and the diving activity centers are located regionally rather than within Makna.
