Peniche

Peniche is a coastal town in central Portugal that serves as a practical gateway for diving along the central Atlantic coast. With a pair of local dive centers and access to multiple shore and boat dives, it's a reliable base for exploring nearby reefs and wrecks. The area offers consistent Atlantic conditions, generally mild water, and diverse marine life including local fish, bass, and occasional larger pelagics depending on site. Close to the Sorraia River freshwater option, diving here is more about coastal diving infrastructure, training and day trips than inland diving.
