Dumaguete

Dumaguete sits on Negros Island in the Philippines and is best known as a laid-back gateway to the surrounds of the Sulu Sea and nearby dive sites. The city itself is not a major dive destination, but it hosts a growing number of dive centers and serves as a convenient base for day trips to coastal reefs, wall dives, and macro sites around Apo Island and nearby reefs. Expect warm tropical water, generally calm seas, and typical reef life such as small fish, corals, and occasional turtles. Freshwater options are limited locally, so most diving is along the coastal, saltwater fringe reachable from Dumaguete.
