Zamami

Zamami is a small island village in Okinawa Prefecture, accessible by ferry or short flight from Naha. It serves as a gateway for divers visiting Zamami and nearby Tokashiki in the Kerama Islands. The area offers calm, clear waters with structured dive centers that run day trips to nearby reefs and walls, suitable for both beginner and experienced divers. Expect shallow reefs with abundant fish, occasional sea turtles, and clear visibility in good conditions; currents can vary, so local briefings are important. Freshwater diving is not available; most diving is saltwater coastal sites accessible from the shore or boat, with marine life typical of the Kerama archipelago. The village is also a relaxed base for snorkeling and island exploring between dives.
