Kitakyushu is a coastal city in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. While not a primary diving hub, it provides access to nearby water destinations along the Japan Sea coast. With limited local diving activity, most divers use the city as a gateway to day trips or further travel to better-known dive areas along the northern Kyushu coast or farther trips to the Sea of Japan. The city itself is more of an industrial and port city, so diving options are modest and concentrated outside its immediate urban core.
