Odawara

Odawara is a coastal city in Kanagawa Prefecture, on the Izu Peninsula’s northern side facing the Sagami Bay of the North Pacific. It’s a practical access point for divers heading to the nearby Izu diving spots and coastal reefs, shipwrecks, and rocky dive sites along the Sagami coastline. With a couple of local dive centers and marine services, it serves as a gateway for day trips and weekend dives from Tokyo and the Shonan area. Water is typically temperate, with clearer conditions in favorable seasons, and divers may encounter reef fish, wrasse, and occasional larger pelagics on offshore sites. Lake Hinuma provides a freshwater training option nearby for skill development, though it’s not a diving destination itself.
