Vari Municipal Unit

Vari is a coastal area near Athens on the Saronic Gulf side of Attica, Greece. While the broader region is famous for its sea access and easy day-trips to nearby Athens, the site itself is not a major diving destination. The nearby Aegean waters offer winter and summer diving opportunities with visibility that varies by season along the Greek coast. For divers, Vari serves as a gateway hub for access to the Athens area and the eastern Attica coastline, where a handful of dive centers operate and nearby dive sites can be reached by road or short boat trips. Expect calm conditions near shore and typical Mediterranean marine life further offshore, with clear, temperate water in summer and cooler winter temperatures.
