Starnberger See

Starnberger See (also known as Lake Starnberg) is a large freshwater lake near Munich in Bavaria. It is not a coastal diving destination, and local diving activity centers on freshwater training, limited shore dives, and occasional guided reflections by local clubs from lakeside access points. The area offers scenic surroundings and easier access for training dives, with generally warm summers and clear freshwater, but there are no major offshore dive sites within the lake itself. For more extensive diving, divers typically travel to nearby alpine lakes or the Karwendel/Chiemsee regions, or to coastal sites farther away.
